Grain Averaging Notification
Discount Policy Amendment
Effective April 1, 2009
Big River Resources West Burlington, LLC ethanol facility will average daily Moisture,
Test Weight, Broken Corn and Foreign Material (BCFM) beginning April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2011, unless notified differently.
In addition to the “Daily Average”, customers who notify Big River in advance of delivery can choose to have their grain averaged over a period of days.
Below are specifics of the corn averaging options that will begin April 1, 2009.
1. Daily Average:
• All corn deliveries will be averaged by customer for each day delivered.
• Payment for grain will be the following day.
Moisture, Test Weight, and BCFM will be averaged. There is no change to the current maximum levels for all factors. Grain determined by Big River personnel to be of excessive foreign material (cobs, stalks, dirt, and material that is not broken corn) and not milling quality may be subject to rejection and/or not averaged.
2. Delivery Period Average (advance notice required ):
All customer deliveries may be averaged over a 15 day period. Payment for the delivery period averaged grain will be for the entire 15 day time frame until payment is made on the 15 of the month. Averaging will start over for loads delivered from the 15 through the last day of each month. This will be done unless a different date is mutually agreed upon by Big River and the customer. Contract application will be oldest contract first. Pursuant to Iowa Grain Dealer law, all payments for grain must be made
within 30 days of delivery.
3. No Average:
If you do not wish to average your grades, call 319-768-5863 prior to delivery to remove the daily averaging.
This change in policy is intended to create a benefit to you, our corn
supplier, and is another step toward unbeatable customer satisfaction!
